Southern Caribbean Honeymoon Destinations Crystal-clear water, white-sand beaches, tropical breezes, swaying palm trees, balmy weather, an incredibly laid-back atmosphere theres something about a Caribbean honeymoon that just has relax written all over it! A Caribbean destination is ideal for couples who want to simply kick back on vacation, stretched out in a hammock with a good book or frosty drink in hand. What better way to recover from the stress and responsibilities of wedding planning than with a resort stay in the tropical Caribbean! For the ultimate in exotic Caribbean destinations, consider the "ABC" islands in the south. Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao in the southernmost part of the Caribbean are not far from the coast of South America, and since theyre close to the equator, boasting incredible tropical climates. Steady trade winds help cool the islands in the heart of the summer. Stroll the historic sections of the main towns on the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaco to see splendid examples of Dutch architecture. All of the islands have exquisite beaches and high-end resort areas, as well as more rugged, untouched landscape for off road exploration. Aruba On the south and west coasts of Aruba are miles of pristine white beaches that rank among the most scenic in the world. The islands most famous trees are the watapana, or divi-divi, all permanently sculpted into graceful, south-bending shapes by the constant trade winds. Bonaire This island is known for its conservation efforts on land and in the waters surrounding the island. Tour the national park that covers one-fifth of Bonaire, with hiking trails leading to scenic vistas, as well as opportunities to see exotic birds, wild donkeys and plenty of iguanas. Curacao Located just 12 degrees north of the equator, Curacao has a warm, sunny climate year round. Its capital Willemstad features beautiful pastel-colored buildings influenced by colonial Dutch architecture and many pedestrian-friendly streets for sightseeing and shopping.
