I admit that it's far too easy for us to travel into Mexico. Living in the Desert Southwest USA provides us easy access to the beautiful beaches of Northern Mexico. Imagine... Mexico Beach Vacations In March? The fact that it's a budget minded travelers dream... is just a bonus.

Well... it's more than a bonus. We wouldn't be able to have so many year round beach vacations if we weren't able to take advantage of Mexico's prices.

When our kid's were just babies... we started traveling over to the California coast and rented week long stays in fantastic beach side condo's. It was a fantasy style vacation for us... as we could just sit on the deck and bake the days away. The kids enjoyed roller blading, boogie boarding and building sand castles. The ability to whip up quick snacks and dinners in a full size kitchen and take showers every day... without leaving the sounds of the beach was a brilliant choice for family style vacations.

But... the prices for beach rentals and all vacation related expenses kept rising at an alarming rate. Finally... the costs just put us into the - No California Vacations - column.

Now... we have found our best alternative. Of course... the fact that we plan to retire in Mexico has been an additional focus for our vacations. We are on the lookout during every trip, for retirement places and ideas in Mexico.

This weekends short trip was just a quick trip down to El Golfo for a full day and a half of bliss. I know it's almost unbearable to think about a few days without phones, computers or television... but just a few days where the only stimulation is good friends and watching the waves can feel like a weeks vacation.

Talk about recharging your batteries!
