This trendy plus size fashion shop is located in down town Los Angeles, California. It has been a full-time venture for owner Ann Ahn for the last seven years. In 2006 the plus size store entered the world of cyberspace with the intention of providing "Quality Plus Size Fashion to girls all around the world." All the clothing at Plus Size Fix (formerly Belle Avenue) comes directly from Los Angeles designers. Being so close to Hollywood it's natural that their clothing would imitate the celebrity style of the movie and television stars... except in plus sizes. Plus Size Fix was featured in the November 2007 fashion layout for Skorch Magazine.
Selection: There are headings for dresses, tops, sweaters, outerwear, denim, pants, skirts and accessories but the website is currently focusing on dresses, tops (casual and dressy), outerwear, and sweaters.
Sizing: Plus Size Fix offers plus sizes ranging from 14 -24 or 1x - 3x.
Styling: They offer sexy, trendy, and classic styles for the fashion conscious shopper. They have a fabulous selection of top styles although I would like to see less polyester. These are definitely not items you've seen everywhere else.
Pricing: Prices currently range from $21.99 - $42.99.
Availability: Plus Size Fix ships worldwide. Their shipping rates start at $5.00 for the U.S. and $7.20 for Canada; although, I ordered two tops and it only cost me $4.66. I was also charged State taxes which I thought was odd since I don't live in California but they refunded it within a few days when it was brought to their attention. My shipment arrived promptly (7 days).
Overall Impression: I really like the look of the fashions at Plus Size Fix and am pleased with the two tops I ordered from them. They offer unique and fashionable choices at incredibly reasonable prices considering they are plus sizes.
It would be nice to see more product details i.e. washing and drying instructions, fabric content. Both tops I ordered were dryclean only. It is important to mention that the receipt that arrived with my purchase said "all exchanges and returns must be returned within three days". It's was also annoying that there are product categories on the website with no product in them. It wastes the customer's time by encouraging them to click on them only to find a "coming soon" notice.
But I still had fun shopping there! The shopping cart is easy to use and powered through yahoo which has the added convenience of accepting PayPal. They offer a weekly email update for new arrivals.
