Quick & Easy Decorating Ideas
When you are decorating on a budget, it’s sometimes difficult to know where to spend your money. Do you start with a specific room or a specific project? What do you do?

Well, sometimes starting with a simple project is very effective. Especially if you choose one that is not only cheap, but that also doesn't take up a lot of time. The advantage of starting simply, is that you'll see results quicker, and that in turn, may motivate you to keep going with the next project. Before you know it, your entire room will be transformed.

Here are quick and easy decorating ideas for your home that won’t break the bank:

Rearrange Your Furniture

It is surprising how just moving your furniture around in a different way can change the appearance of a space. This is something that can be done in an afternoon and doesn’t cost you a thing. Just be sure to place the furniture so that it is easy for people to pass through the room.

You might even take some pieces out and bring new ones in from other areas of the house. For example an extra bedroom dresser may be perfect as a buffet in the dining room. Experiment with moving lamps, art and other small items to different spaces in your home. Sometimes we get lost in a rut with one look and just by switching a few things around in our home, we can create a simple, budget friendly change to our home.

Paint Something

Paint is relatively cheap and therefore it can be your best tool in transforming your home. You can change the atmosphere of a room in a matter of hours with just a new wall color or by painting the doors and trim a new contrasting color.

If you're not ready to tackle the walls, try painting some accent pieces like picture frames, lamps, vases and more. It’s especially fun to try out a new color this way. The bolder the better – don’t be afraid to really experiment. A colorful spray paint will makeover a gaudy brass accent into a more pleasing one in no time at all.

Painting is also an easy fix for furniture that has lost its appeal. Tie together mismatched pieces by painting them the same color. Paint the chairs to a dining set in 2 or 3 complementary colors. Make a grand statement by transforming a large piece such as an armoire as the room's focal point. However you use it, paint is the ideal way to jazz up a space very quickly and effectively.

Group Your Collections

Grouping your collections adds personality and provides more sentimental value to your items. Rather than spreading them all over a room or even all over the house, give them one special area in your home.

Place them on a fireplace mantel, a shelving unit or display them on the wall. When they are amassed together you will discover they create more impact and thereby are also easier to appreciate.

These are just a few ideas that you can do to add quick decorating touches to your home. As you can see, it doesn’t cost a lot of money to make new and welcoming changes to your space. When you start with simple, easy projects, you'll find decorating less overwhelming and have the reward of enjoying your decorating efforts much sooner.
