Welcome to the Tatting Newsletter from BellaOnline.com.
Tatting is a lacemaking art with multiple benefits. The mere act of winding the tatting shuttle or preparing the tatting needle leads to moments of quiet concentration. As the tatting progresses, the concentration needed seems almost like meditation. And, as the lace gently grows, the stresses and pressures of the everyday world begin to melt away.
An inexpensive art needing basically shuttles and thread, it is also very portable. Those lost minutes in the bank lobby line and the lost hours waiting in the doctor's office are easily reclaimed by carrying along tatting in the pocket or purse. Lost time becomes found time. Plus, family and friends will enjoy the handmade lace you "found" time to make just for them!
New developments in tatting are happen frequently these days. Information about patterns teaching the newest methods will be shared here. And on the tatting site, instructions for all tatting methods will be posted; one-shuttle tatting, shuttle and ball thread tatting, multiple shuttle tatting, needle tatting, crochet-tatting and Japanese needle tatting, too. Assistance in reading and tatting patterns is available also.
