Brooks and Dunn – Concert Review

The final day of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was the day I got to see Brooks and Dunn again! What a great show.

Brooks & Dunn PhotoIt’s easy to see why these two guys have won so many awards(CMA, ACM and CMT Music Awards), they work together great and are a true duo.
Kix and Ronnie both take the mic and do a great job. The energy level is tremendous and the audience participation has be a high for the guys and the band. From the first song Little Miss Rodeo to the final note of Boot Scoot Boogie these guys kept the audience entertained and singing along with them. There did seem to be some issues with the sound at the stadium but it didn’t deter from the show one bit in this audience members opinion.

Both Kix and Ronnie looked great and seemed to be in good spirits. The only thing I have always hated is Ronnie’s haircut, his bangs drive me nuts. Kix was all over the stage and in general acting like himself, crazy and full of energy. Both looked quite comfortable in their jeans and boots, no dressing up to impress the audience for these guys. Take them as they are, that's their motto. Kix did a great job on guitar and harmonica and put a ton of energy into the songs he when he was backing Ronnie. If you get the chance, go see them in concert, it's a great experience! I can only imagine the difference in this scaled back version and the full stage shows that they put on for the fans.

Set List:
Little Miss Rodeo
Hillbilly Deluxe
Can’t Take the Honky Tonk Out of the Girl
Mama Don’t Get Dressed Up For Nothin’
The House We Built
Neon Moon
Rock My World
My Maria
Cowboy Town
