Fay Wolf Review

Fay Wolf Review
As a multi-talented and ever-developing artist, Fay Wolf is on the scene – whether it’s the music, acting or comedic scene – and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. As a singer/songwriter, actress and comedian, Fay Wolf has discovered the secret to splitting her talents into each category. She has since added the title “professional organizer” to her name, and with everything that she has going on, I can’t imagine why not.

Born on August 21, 1978 and raised in Fairfield, Connecticut, Fay Wolf moved to L.A. (where she now resides) and hasn’t looked back. With a fine mixture of sounds including folk rock, indie and “melodramatic popular song,” Fay Wolf prides herself on making fans cry – in a good way, of course. After taking singing and piano lessons as a child, Fay Wolf has discovered the perfect blend of creating indie-inspired sounds and touching, relatable lyrics. Along with her music, she also holds a BFA in Acting from Boston University School for the Arts.

With musical influences coming from Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos and Ani DiFranco, Fay Wolf refers to her live performances as “sadsongfunnyjokemusictimes.” After spreading her music solely through word of mouth in 2008, Fay Wolf began performing at venues like Hotel Café in Los Angeles and The Living Room in New York.

Fay Wolf’s first EP "Blankets” was released in 2009 and was produced by Mike Olson and Uh Huh Her's Camila Grey. Songs from the EP have been featured on Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Covert Affairs, and Pretty Little Liars. Then, after a very successful Kickstarter campaign, Fay Wolf was able to release her debut full-length album, titled “Spiders,” on November 8, 2011. The album was produced by Billy Mohler and Joshua Ostrander.

With lyrics that make you stop whatever you’re doing and sit down to listen, Fay Wolf’s music is definitely touching, relatable and endearing. Her music is relaxing and her overall sound is filled with indie-inspired tones. Fay Wolf’s music has definitely been added to my playlist and I highly recommend hearing this multi-talented lady’s collection.
