Many resorts on Mexico's Riviera Maya -- from Puerto Morelos to Tulum -- have on-site wedding coordinators to help you plan your destination wedding. These resorts (often all-inclusive ones) offer the ultimate in one-stop shopping, making it hassle-free to put together a wonderful event.
Depending on the resort, however, you may need to use only those vendors that have been approved by the hotel's wedding planner, or you might be required to employ the on-site chef to create your meal and wedding cake -- no outside catering services allowed.
If you'd prefer to create an event that's a bit more personalized -- perhaps with a ceremony on a remote beach or with a restaurant chef's menu that you love -- you might consider hiring an independent wedding planner to help you pull together your special day.
Like on-site hotel wedding coordinators, independent planners in the Riviera Maya can help you take care of all the details -- from helping you complete the legal requirements and hiring an officiant, to securing a venue and negotiating contracts with an independent florist, photographer, caterer, DJ and more.
Secluded Destination Wedding Location
One remote spot that is an absolutely gorgeous place to get hitched is at the event facility adjacent to Secret Jewel Suites & Villas, on Playa del Secreto (Secret Beach) just south of Puerto Morelos, about 25 minutes south of Cancun International Airport.
The reception facility includes a totally secluded beach (above left), a covered palapa (left) for a sit-down meal, jungle garden and spacious restrooms (with clever conch shell sink faucets), plus a facility manager on site at all times. You can get married on the beach, perhaps with a Native Mystical Wedding ceremony (above right), and then spend your wedding night at one of the suites next door (or revel in an entire week's honeymoon at this private location).
In fact, you can house your entire wedding party -- up to 20 total -- at the adjacent Secret Jewel Suites & Villas. The villa property features a game room, BBQ area, natural swimming pool (below) and many more amenities to make your guests' stay ultra-comfortable.
