Selling Tatted Items (Part 2) Last week, I discussed a number of ways and places to sell your homemade works of art. This week, I’d like to go into another method of sales. You don’t even have to leave the house. Another method of sales is to create a web site. There are several different ISP's which offer free web pages. If you know about html or web creating you'll have fun doing this. But, now days these free web pages have templates that you can choose from-to make a professional looking web page with ease. By creating a web site, you can take pictures and add, edit or remove as you please. You can also use the web page URL in your signature. Any time you email anybody your signature, along with your page URL will automatically be listed and get the attention of others to check it out. You can also post in any groups such as Yahoo!, Gmail and msn groups from your personal email and it will attach this signature. If you sign up for an email account, (such as yahoo and Gmail) these accounts will allow you to create a signature; which will be attached to each of your emails and posts. And, of course, word of mouth (along with pictures, if possible) is the biggest advertisement. That's one reason why I highly recommend one of these free web sites. Combine that with word of mouth and you get some good free advertisement. First, start with telling your friends. You can either email them the address to your new site or you can tell them to check out your URL for your site; which you've listed in your signature. Don't be afraid to ask your friends to help you spread the word. If they check out your site and like what they see, chances are, they'll be more than happy to help with 'word of mouth'. Other options, for sales, include flea markets, outdoor markets, farmer's markets, church bazaar's, etc. As you can see there is a good variety of ways and places to sell your homemade items. If you've found another successful way of selling your homemade tatted items please tell us about it in the tatting forums at http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=39&page=1 Much success in your endeavor to sell your homemade tatted items. | Previous Features | Site MapContent copyright © 2008 by Beverly Elrod.
