Living in a border town, I always heard about the infamous Target. It seemed to be a destination must for any Canadian crossing the border to do some shopping. I never got the chance to check out this department store until the Internet. Their Internet store has been open since August 1999 but Target has been in business in the United States for over forty years offering everything from books to knick knacks or housewares to furniture or toys to electronics. And they also carry a line of plus size clothing.
Selection: Target offers tops, bottoms, dresses, swimsuits, and intimates in plus sizes. Each category is divided further when you click on it and the number of styles, available is provided in brackets beside it: I.E. Hoodies (5); designer; color; or price.
Sizing: Target's plus size clothing is available in sizes 16-30. Many are duo sizes like 16/18 etc. In bras they have 36 DD - 48 G.
Pricing: I would say they are very affordable. I found t-shirts from $9.99 - $12.99; dresses from $24 - $30; pants $24 - $30; and bras from $12.99 - $26.99.
Availability: Target will ship products to all 50 states but will not ship internationally. Charges for delivery depend on the number of items, weight and dimensions. The complete shipping cost is shown on the "Place Order" page in the checkout area before the order is submitted at which time you have the option of changing your mind if the shipping is too expensive.
Overall Impression: It's hard to find the plus section from the main page. It's a bit buried in the Women's section but you'll find it under "Women's Plus". Each category doesn't have a huge selection but they do offer basic every day wear. And if you are on a budget, extremely affordable when compared to the other plus size offerings. I am unfamiliar with the quality (if you have feedback on that please let me know). Shipping and return information was easy to find at the bottom of their pages. 5% of Target's income is reinvested into educational and community programs.
