White Sands - Hair Product Review

White Sands - Hair Product Review
The literature says that White Sands products employ natural botanicals to provide thermal and color protection for hair. I found that the products offer a tremendous amount of versatility. For instance, the Liquid Texture products can be used on wet or dry hair, with heat or without, and in combination with other products in the line. I haven’t had time to explore all the possibilities, but I am very impressed with White Sands products.

Day 1:
I started out with Phase One Nourishing Shampoo. It produces lots of lather so you don’t have to use much for a good cleansing. My hair felt very clean but not ‘stripped’ or particularly tangley afterward..
I followed the shampoo with Phase One Corrective Conditioner. It is very moisturizing and my hair instantly felt silky. It is a thick consistency and spreads easily so a little goes a long way.
Phase One Shampoo and Conditioner are formulated for blondes and brunettes and has a ph of 4.6. Both are said to protect tinted hair from color loss. I used this shampoo and conditioner on each of the subsequent days.

Styling product:
I used Curl Up in Silk Medium Hold Mousse. My hair is shoulder length and thick so I used 2 lemon-sized balls of mousse. I let my curly hair dry naturally. The result was soft and shiny with rope like curls – just as the literature said it would be.

Day 2:
Styling Product:

I used Curl Up in Silk Firm Hold Mousse. The results were satisfactory, soft and natural feeling, although my hair was curlier than I like it. This product would be perfect for those who want to scrunch more curl into their hair.

Later, I used this mousse in styling fine limp hair, employing a blow dryer and curling iron, with good results. It provided lots of body without a sticky or ‘product’ feel.

Day 3
Styling Product:

I used Curl Up in Silk Medium Hold Mousse and sprayed Soft Hold Liquid Texture over it. This is my favorite combination for my curly hair. It resulted in nice rope-like curls that were firm, flexible and springy - not crispy.

Styling Product:
I used Soft Hold Liquid Texture by itself. I used a blow dryer and flat iron to style my hair. The product gave my hair body without causing it to feel stiff or sticky. The heat from the flat iron worked with the Liquid Texture to produce a nice healthy shine.

Day 4:
I decided to wear my hair straight, using a blow dryer and flat iron to smooth it. Since my hair is naturally curly, tinted and highlighted, it sometimes has a dry or frizzy appearance on the ends. After shampooing and conditioning, I sprayed it with Porosity the Fix. The literature says that it works like a foundation or a concealer to fill in problem areas and to, temporarily, give the impression of flawless hair.
My finished style was smooth and shiny without the frizzy, dry appearing ends. To my relief, it still felt clean and fresh - no product feel.

As a finish on all four days, I used White Sands Infinity Liquid Texture Firm Finish Spray. It held my hair in place without feeling too stiff or sticky and brushed out easily when I was finished with it.

As I said at the beginning of the article, I am very impressed with White Sands products.
I suggest that those who are interested, ask their hair professional for suggestions as to the particular products formulated for individual needs. This line has a product or combination for any texture and type of hair and for use with any style.
