Possessor of some of the fleetest fingers in guitar history, Yngwie Malmsteen is releasing a new record on October 14. There are two firsts connected with Perpetual Flame, which is first CD in three years. First of all, the record will be released on Rising Force Records (which I believe is his label). The other notable fact is that this will be the debut of Tim “Ripper” Owens who is well known from his stint in Judas Priest as well as Iced Earth.
Malmsteen produced the disc and also threw in some bass, keyboard and vocal parts as well.

The guitar master was honored recently when Roadie Crew Magazine did a poll of respected guitarists to name their fav six-string slingers. Malmsteen came in third trailing only Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen. The tributes don’t stop there. On Monday, October 13, Yngwie will be inducted into the Rock Walk in Los Angeles.

Fans will also want to line up at their favourite music stores on November 28 when a new Fender/Malmsteen guitar will be released. However, it is limited to 100 pieces so if you’re interested, get on board early.
