Today I watched a video of Ron Paul, he was on CNN talking about our trillion dollar deficit—no it’s not a billion, but a TRILLION?! What a mess we are leaving for our children and grandchildren. Ron Paul says he’s worried about our generation. If you are human, then you too should be a little worried.
Where ever I go I see that people are concerned for their jobs, whether or not they can pay their mortgage, putting food on the table, etc. A headline this morning states: “US jobless rate hits 7.2 percent.” Some journalists, experts, etc. state we may be headed for another Great Depression.
One of the culprits that are sending us into our spiraling debt is interventionism. But, we have to spread “freedom and democracy” to other nations and fight this war on terror on a faceless enemy—where the hell is bin Laden? We are picking up the tab for this mess and foolishness. Who knows what will happen with the Gaza situation and how much of our resources will be poured into that.
Also, our dollar is weakening, thanks to the Federal Reserve for printing more fiat money. Peter Schiff says that our Treasury is a “Ponzi scheme.” I couldn’t agree with him more. Our whole government is a pyramid scheme. Only a few people at the top benefit, while the rest of us suffers.
Whenever Ron Paul speaks, he always warns and talks about the philosophy on how a government should properly run. Ron Paul has stated that we need to go back to sound money and non-interventionism, the way the Founding Fathers has started this country. And, what they started paved a way for prosperity to flourish in our nation for at least a hundred plus years. Now that we have strayed from those principles, we are headed towards destruction—the end of the American Empire.
It all sounds like our American way of life of free markets and capitalism will come to an end. If you listen carefully to some pundits, they will blame capitalism for this economic mess, when it’s our own government that allowed this to happen! 2009 looks like it’s going bring about big government regulations (smells like socialism), which I like to refer to as “Big Brother” looking after us—oh, how nice. Also, possibly more interventionism with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or maybe pick a fight with Iran (might as well invade the whole Middle East and meddle some more) — wait, if the U.S. goes into a depression we may not afford war.
2008 brought about voices of reason: Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, the Third Parties’ presidential candidates, and many others. Their voices may be obscure, but the people that listen to them are gaining insight and knowledge—in my book, that is more precious than gold.
