Aging Gracefully In Style

Aging Gracefully In Style
Many people feel that with age comes responsibility. Adults are supposed to look a particular way and set a good example. While this is true, personal style falters. Becoming “too old” to wear certain things forces the majority to give up on fashion altogether.

Tons of women complain about not appearing to be as glamorous as they used to. Body parts shift and confidence goes along with it. This reflection is only a state of mind. Have features changed over the years? Sure. However, looks can be repackaged. A little trip down memory lane might help:

Ahhh, the teenage years! This is a time of exploration. Puberty hits, making lovely things pop out of nowhere. There is a battle between development and immaturity. While some girls are intimidated by their growth, others embrace their curvy additions with tank tops, cropped shirts and slim cut jeans. Plus, staying on trend is a must.

The twenties are not much different. However, its dichotomy is tricky- being old enough to know better, but young enough not to care. Does that sound about right? The twenty year old wears whatever she wants, without question. Although her look is upgraded with pencil skirts, stilettos and tote bags, her naïveté about life can cloud sound judgment. She is entering womanhood while dealing with the little girl lagging behind.

At thirty years old, major styling faux pas are a thing of the past. Fashion is no longer chased; it is wrapped around her finger. This maturity allows space for cover ups, like long sweaters, peacoats and plaid blazers. A woman's gait also switches from feeble to fierce! Knowing self has come into play and is quite noticeable.

Nothing changed dramatically over the years, as far as dress is concerned; there was simply a tweak in outfit selection. From adolescence to womanhood, a girl experiments with different looks. That's what females do! Also, contrary to popular belief, dressing youthfully does not equate to being juvenile. You can be forever fabulous. Repurpose style instead of sacrificing it for age.
