Finding a Job With Feng Shui

Stephanie had been out of work for nine months. A former office manager, she had been laid off due to the economic downturn. Stephanie sent out resumes and had a few interviews, but she never received a job offer. To make things worse, Stephanie had used most of her savings paying her mortgage and keeping her credit card payments current. She realized it was time to do something to improve her career outlook, so she turned to Feng Shui for help.

Feng Shui is the art of arranging your surroundings in balance and harmony. When the energy in your home is blocked or imbalanced, it’s difficult to attract wealth, harmony, and love into your life. A look at Stephanie’s home revealed that she had been neglecting her surroundings, and consequently, she had unwittingly sabotaged her ability to attract a job. The simple, 3-step Feng Shui rescue plan I created for Stephanie is one that anyone can follow.

First, Stephanie’s front door was faded and the paint was peeling. In Feng Shui, the front door is considered the “mouth of chi” where all good energy enters a home. Stephanie’s shabby looking door was symbolically keeping a new job from finding her. A quick and easy paint job was the answer. Stephanie painted her door red, which in Feng Shui symbolizes wealth.

Second, Stephanie had hung a mirror in her foyer, directly across from the front door. This was symbolically reflecting any job possibilities right back out the door. The quick fix was to replace the mirror with a beautiful image of a river gently flowing, since an image of water placed near the entrance represents the flow of abundance into a home.

Third, Stephanie had been keeping too many old things that reminded her of a time when she felt more financially secure, even though they were things she no longer liked. Ironically, all of this clutter had the opposite effect of holding her back because Feng Shui believes that nothing good flows into your life until you make room for it. The quick fix was to move out unneeded items, including her living room set, and open up some more space. Stephanie posted several items on CraigsList.com and within a few days sold them for an amazing $1,800, which started her on the way to feeling prosperous.

And more important, within one week of completing her Feng Shui rescue plan, Stephanie was offered a job managing a growing chiropractic office!

Are you looking for a new job, or trying to feel more secure in the one you have? Launch your own Feng Shui rescue plan right at your own front door with these three steps:

1. Make sure your front door is clean and attractive, and that nothing is blocking it from opening completely.
2. Remove a mirror if it faces your front door, and replace it with artwork that makes you feel welcome in your own home.
3. Get rid of clutter and any items that you no longer need.
