I've been aware of this relatively new online plus size shopping website since late 2008. It wasn't until early this year that I was able to positively review one of their pieces for my plus size shopping blog. SWAK is short for Sealed With A Kiss. It is a family owned business with their main office located in Canoga Park, California. They carry their own line of clothing designs as well as a few from elsewhere.
Selection: SWAKdesigns carries a small selection of tops, pants, denim, dresses, and skirts with new items popping up all the time.
Sizing: SWAKdesigns offers plus size fashions in sizes 1x - 6x (some items are sized to 7x).
Styling: It's kind of hard to pinpoint the style. Some of their products fall into the sexy club set while others fall into shopping at the grocer.
Pricing: Their clothing is reasonably priced. There is a "bargain basement" with exceptional deals on selected sizes.
Availability: SWAKdesigns ships FREE with customer purchases of $40 or more to the U.S., Canada, and internationally via USPS.
Overall Impression: The site is easy to surf for clothing specifics, faqs, shipping, returns etc. The bargain basement is a real steal with some items more than half off the original price.
Shipping costs is always one of my pet peeves with clothing companies. They can run anywhere from legit to extreme but one of the best customer care features of SWAKdesigns is that they have FREE shipping for orders over $40 both for the U.S., Canada, and internationally.
They offer the regular payment options as well as paypal which is something I consider a plus for online shopping. My only complaint is that the print on the ordering form could be a little bigger.
Other features include a mailing list that gives updates on promotions; a blog that gives fashion advice and news in the fat community; and an online chat that allows you to get immediate answers to product questions (and quick email support). Overall they are very affordable and have a great range of plus sizes available. I recommend checking them out.
