More Great Halloween Tags

Halloween Tags – Part TWO

Tags are a popular medium right now in the rubber stamping world and these Halloween tags are fun, funky, and very timely. Tags can be used as card elements, in scrap booking, and as – well – tags! These Halloween tags show some of the many things you can do to achieve a spooky look that will embellish any project, favor, or gift.

Little Devil Tag

While this tag did not photograph well, it is a cute tag that has lots of shimmer to it due to the Perfect Pearls spray.

Materials needed: (Available at Sarilyn Crafts)
• Distress Inks
• Ink Blending Tool
• Halloween Stamps
• Cardstock
• Mini Mister
• Heat Tool
• Perfect Pearls
• Distress Stickles
• Green Eye Stickers
• Black marker
• Acrylic Corners
• White Puffs Embossing Powder
• Large tag
• Versamark Watermark Ink Pad

Take your ink blending tool and your Distress Inks and blend your color over the tag until you have a blend you like. When that is done, take Distress Stickles in a matching color and go around the string hole in the tag. Then take your acrylic corner and use another matching color to glue on. Allow these to dry overnight.

Stamp your little devil sentiment stamp with Distress Ink, which stays wet longer than most dye inks, so it will hold embossing powders, Perfect Peals, etc. After you stamp your image, brush over it with Perfect Pearls in your color choice. I used Green Patina from the Aged Patina Kit. After you have brushed off any excess pearls from the tag, mist lightly with your mini mister and dry with your heat gun. The tag may curl when wet, but will flatten as it dries.

Stamp your skull stamp with Versamark and heat emboss with White Puffs embossing powder, which will puff up a bit as it heats for a great effect. When this is done, color in the eye sockets with your black marker and add your eye stickers to the blackened sockets.

R.I.P. Tag

This tag was made with an old yellow shipping tag that I blended colors over to give it its spooky, aged effect.

Materials needed: (Available at Sarilyn Crafts)
• Large shipping tag
• Distress Inks
• Ink Blending Tool
• Spray bottle
• Halloween stamps

This tag is very effectively spooky as well as very simple to complete. It takes very few supplies and a very small amount of time.

First take your shipping tag and blend your Distress Inks over it until your desired look is achieved. Stamp your image stamps using your Distress inks in the colors desired, allowing them to dry in between stampings. I used Walnut Stain for the tree, Soot Black for the birds, and Peeled Paint for the R.I.P. I stamped off the edges of the tag a bit with all my stamps. It is now ready to add a ribbon or string and use on your project.

All materials used in this article can be purchased at Sarilyn Crafts with Free Shipping and low prices.
