The first thing we are going to need is knowledge. Here we can pull in a lot of resources. We can talk to other pet owners; we can talk to various pet shops, to pet breeders, or your veterinarian. We can look online and find some basic details. But that is all you are going to find, is basic understanding of the pet in which you’re interested. You don’t know who wrote the articles, you don’t know their experiences, or credentials. I have seen some awful mistakes in many of the articles I have read on the internet. Heck, my predecessor wrote you can feed skunks cat or dog food – wrong answer; they’d be dead in no time. So let’s start with knowledge. Though I use many resources my favorites are still published books.
Here are reviews of resources I use to help me take care of my exotic pets properly.
Book Reviews
The photographs are beautiful; the text is clear, concise, and easy to understand, with uncomplicated guides for each species. I do have at least one major concern about this book, and that is very little is said about taking animals out of the wild and keeping them as pets.
