THE MURDER OF MY SWEET

The Murder of My Sweet is a great new band from Sweden whose debut Divanity was released last month. They sound a little like a more straightforward Stream of Passion. Vocalist Angelica Rylin has a strong clear voice that really draws in the listener. The band was started by drummer, producer and songwriter Daniel Flores. After he found Angelica, the rest of the band quickly came together.

The Murder of My Sweet (guitarist Daniel Palmqvist, bass player Johan Niemann and keyboardist Andreas Lindahl, along with Flores and Rylin) have a new video for the track "Follow the Rain". You can see it here.

TREAT

25 years after their debut, Swedish melodic rockers Treat are back with a new record Coup de Grace and it’s from the first sample I heard, it’s going to be a good one! The guys reformed in 2006 after breaking up in 1993 to pursue their individual endeavors. Look for this to hit shelves on April 6 in the U.S.

DESDEMON

If you’re looking for something a bit different than the usual metal fare, check out DesDemon, a NY-based band with a striking female singer. The material is symphonic metal with a strong melodic bent but the vocals are a bit more varied than typical Nightwish stylings. The band consists of Mistress Tina (vocals), Lord Metadox (Lead Guitars), Nicholas Gati (Keyboards), Ron “Pelagius” Porcelli (Bass), and Dan Rhodus (Drums). Their debut EP, The Awakening is out now and you can check out samples from it here.
