FlexTastic Product Review

"The Secret to Healthier Feet"

Brief History: Flex-tastic are gel toe relaxers by ProFoot, an American company that has been specializing in "retail foot care" for over twenty years. According to the accompanying literature Flex-tastics are designed to: massage sore feet, straighten and re-align problem toes, and restore flexibility and circulation.

Product: Flex-Tastic

Description: Two blue smooth pieces of polymer gel about 5" long with five holes of varying sizes, one for each toe. It is slightly angled for last two toes.

Packaging: The gel toe relaxers come in simple plastic packaging with basic instructions. Inside is a mini pamphlet with further details on using and cautions.

Price: $9.99

Comments: When I used to practice yoga with a class one of my favorite acts during the cool down was when the instructor directed us to place our fingers between our toes in a grasping motion. It was very relaxing and something I brought home with me to personal practice and during times like putting lotion on feet or doing pedicures. I'm sorry, I don't know if there is a name for this but the Flex-Tastic reminds me of it.

On first use I found it awkward to put on these gel toe relaxers as they seem quite large. As far as I can tell they come in one size only and I highly doubt that a person with a size five or six foot or even seven could comfortably apply these to their feet. But I did find with repeated use they have become easier to apply. I also think the key is not to push them up against the area between the toes.

Did I like them? Yes. What did they do for me? I did not notice any outright change in my foot alignment but I did find they relieved the built up tension I seemed to develop throughout the day. This in turn relieved a bit of tension in my ankles, one of which is suffering from tears in the Achilles tendon. So I deem this as positive.

Every time I tested the gel toe relaxers I did so in front of the TV. I could put up my feet and then use the clock on the television to keep time. The first time was only two minutes. Currently I find five minutes to be comfortable. Longer than that and the skin between my toes feels sore. The literature says they can eventually be worn for up to ten minutes.

I'm happy with the product and think it is a reasonable price. I definitely plan to continuing using the Flex-Tastic gel toe enhancers. And will probably buy more should these ones wear out.
