5 Tips to Supercharge Your Beauty Routine

5 Tips to Supercharge Your Beauty Routine
The best way to feel chic every day is to stay calm and cool and organized. Try these streamlined strategies to take the rush out of your beauty routine.

Separate Your Cosmetics

You don’t need to see that electric blue eye shadow every morning when you wake up. Simplify your weekdays by showcasing only the items you need - your concealer, eye shadow, sun-block, lip gloss, favorite mascara and any other must use products.

Keep these easily accessible in your bathroom, on a tray, or in a designer basket. Transfer this minimal make-up kit to your purse for daily touch ups, or splurge a little and buy two of your absolute essentials - one for home and one for the road.

Encapsulate Your Wardrobe

Just like your cosmetics, you might want to try organizing your clothes by function, not color. Workday clothes should be pre-chosen and hung with coordinating pieces. Bonus points if you place complimentary jewelry, socks and shoes nearby.

Pre-sorting your wardrobe into morning-fog-friendly sets will save you from those panicked what-should-I-wear sessions.

Moisturize and Hydrate

We forget to stay moisturized, and we forget to drink water. Hydration is a major factor in skin health and looking beautiful. Set yourself up for success and leave your favorite hand cream beside the phone, and bottles of water everywhere you can think of - on your bedside table, in your desk, beside the microwave. Evian or other water mists make great pick-me-ups too – refresh often, it makes the day feel a million times prettier.

Good Hair? Sleep on It

Do not. Repeat. Do not wash your hair every morning. Imagine the time you can save reviving your tresses with some powder or dry shampoo, and cutting your shower time to two minutes flat, every other day.

Wax on Weekends

The same goes for tweezing, trimming and bleaching. Sunday is your friend. There's nothing wrong with parking the kids in front of the TV or setting them loose in the yard for on hour while you take a deserved break for weekly maintenance.

Want to double your effectiveness? Maximize your Sunday plucking time and put your mother on speakerphone.

On Sunday, don’t forget to take a few minutes to confirm your clothes, water and creams for the week to come. Experiment and find what works for your unique schedule. Busy can be beautiful, all it takes is a system.
