Homonyms from Acts to Affect

Homonyms are a source of confusion for many people. These words sound exactly alike, but each one has its own way of being spelled and its own meaning. I never realized how many homonyms there were until I began to search for them.

Would you use an ax or acts to split wood for the fireplace? Do you ad or add a column of numbers? Is an eagle's nest an aerie or an airy? And would you use an aero or an arrow with your bow?
