Hadith And Sunnah

Hadith And Sunnah
God tells us many times in the Quran that the only hadith is God's hadith and that any other hadith is a satanic innovation.

Chapter 3, verses 78-79
Among them are those who twist their tongues to imitate the scripture, that you may think it is from the scripture, when it is not from the scripture, and they claim that it is from God, when it is not from God. Thus, they utter lies and attribute them to God, knowingly. Never would a human being whom God blessed with the scripture and prophethood say to the people, "Idolize me beside God." Instead he would say, "Devote yourselves absolutely to your Lord alone." according to the scripture you preach and the teachings you learn.

I am not a Sunni Muslim. I am not a Shia Muslim. I am not a Sufi Muslim. I am not a member of any of the many deviant sects of Islam. I am a Muslim. As a Muslim I am instructed to follow only the Quran.

Chapter 17, verse 46
We place shields around their minds, to prevent them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears. And when you preach your Lord, using the Quran alone, they run away in aversion.

God tells us in the Quran that it is a fully detailed book which gives us knowledge and guidance and that it is a mercy for those people who believe in it (7:52). God did not leave anything out of the Quran (6:38). Why then should I look to any other books written by humans when God tells us that the Quran is all we need for guidance?

God is the only teacher of the Quran (55:2) no human can teach us the Quran. God tells Mohamed, "Do not move your tongue to hasten it. It is we who will collect it into Quran. Once we recite it, you shall follow such a Quran. Then it is We who will explain it." (75:16-19). God tells Mohamed ‘you shall follow such a Quran’ there is no mention of following anything else. Following and obeying the prophet is to follow only the Quran as he did.

In one chapter God tells us that He made the Quran easy for us to learn and asks if any of us wish to learn it (54: 17, 22, 32, and 40). Why would God say it is easy for us to learn if it is not? Why do we need an explanation of the word of God when He is the Teacher (55:2)?

The prophet Mohamed’s only duty on earth was to deliver mankind the Quran. "The messenger has no function except delivery of the message." (5:99). On the Day of Judgement Mohamed will accuse his followers of deserting the Quran (25:30). Mohamed was not given authority and neither was anyone else to write about the life of the prophet. The Quran strictly forbids us to follow anything other than the Quran.

The hadith and sunnah were written after Mohamed's death and caused division in the ranks. God has specifically told them not to divide into sects (6:159) yet they disobeyed this commandment also.

Chapter 6, verses 114-115
"Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbour any doubt. The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient."

Chapter 45, verse 6
Tilka ayatu Allahi natlooha AAalayka bialhaqqi fabi-ayyi hadeethin baAAda Allahi waayatihi yu/minoona
These are God's revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which hadith other than God and His revelations do they believe?

As Muslims we do not need anything other than the Final Scripture, The Quran. We have been given the word of God in every language. It came down in Arabic because those around Mohamed spoke Arabic. Why would God send the Arabs a scripture in any other language than Arabic? But it is a book that each and every Muslim is expected to read. From the first chapter until the last, every word must be read, by every Muslim.

We have been given brains to think with, it is time to use those brains and think about the word of God. If you must obey the prophet Mohamed by following hadiths, then this is one you should not ignore. These are said to be the words of the prophet and if this is so, why are you not obeying them?

"Do not write anything from me; whoever has written anything from me other than the Qur’an let him erase it." (Narrated by Muslim, al-Zuhd wa'l-Raqaa'iq, 5326)
