If you are thinking about joining the ranks of a billion "eBayers" here are a few things you may need to know:
1. The first thing you will need to do is create an eBay account. (You will need a credit card to do this.)
2. If you don't know what you want to sell, here are a few ideas. Stop by local yard sales, garage sales, flea markets, antique stores, estate sales, going out of business sales...pretty much anywhere that sells items for cheap.
3. When you list your item, try to be very specific about payment terms. (Who is paying for shipping and if possible, how much shipping will be.)
4. You will find some people who will ship items before payment confirmation however, I "strongly" suggest that you wait for confirmation of payment before you ship. With the acquisition of PayPal by eBay, paying by PayPal is easier than ever. PayPal currently offers a $5 sign-up bonus.
5. Check out feedback from your buyer. You want to check for a very low feedback score (under 5) and also negative feedback. You'll probably want to steer clear of people who have a trend of not paying for merchandise.
If you follow these tips, you should increase your chances of making the sale and who knows...you may be the next big eBay Powerseller!
