Welcome To BellaOnline's Work & Family Site
Two words that immediately conjure up vivid images for many women: Work and family.
Are they oil and water?
Two different fruits, equally satisfying, in a made-to-order salad?
The answer is different for each woman and, sometimes, different for each stage in a woman's life.
Welcome to BellaOnline's Work and Family site. Here we will explore the complex, and simple, issues surrounding women's challenge to balance their careers and their children, their need to make money and their need to make homes, and their commitments to their individuality and their fierce bond with their offspring.
As we go on this journey together, let's remember that each woman brings her own specific experiences, culture, beliefs and life situation to her ongoing endeavor to define herself and her roles. Let's be respectful of the fact that no answer is the right one for all of us, but we can still learn from and support each other in our individual ventures.
To that end, you will find information here on being a career mom, a business- owner mom and, for now, a stay-at-home mom. You will find general stories that affect all moms, no matter what other roles they choose or have chosen for them.
In the coming weeks, be sure to check out the Time Out Corner, where you will find news-you-can-use and inspirational ideas. After all, who says time out has to be a bad thing? In our corner you'll find Kids' Time, with activities moms can enjoy with children, and Mom's Time, with ideas for nurturing yourself.
The best source of family activity tips, you know, is other moms. If you have a great idea for Kids' Time or Mom's Time that you'd like to share, send me an e-mail. I'll put the best ones in the Time Out Corner for all to see. To that end, you can feel free to post your question in forum, you will not only get feedback from me, but from other editors as well. Of coure I invite answers as well as questions. When raising a family, it truly does take a village.
