God Bless America

God Bless America
Show the deep love, honor, and hope that you share with your fellow Americans for your country by remembering our honored service men and woman standing tall amid the controversy that is Iraq. Remember them all in your prayers this Memorial day.

Times of War and strife have always escalated a surge of patriotism in the United States. The Iraq conflict differs for most Americans because without a draft it is a conscious choice for those men and woman in the armed service to be there. Our sons and daughters are not called upon involuntarily making it easy to forget the hardships faced by these young men and woman who made a personal choice to defend your country. Don't let their sacrifices go unnoticed. This year, on Memorial Day, sing the wonderful song God Bless America - Sing it loud, sing it clear, sing it with pride. Let our enlisted service men and women know the are not forgotten. When you see an enlisted person in uniform, salute them, shake their hand, and tell them Thank You. These men and woman need the support of everyone of us. Let them know their country is behind them 100% despite our personal political beliefs about this war.

The words and music of "America the Beautiful" were popularized by Kate Smith's rendition of the song during an Armistice Day radio program in 1938 – 20 years after the song was written by Irving Berlin. The song was written in 1918 to be featured in Berlin's Broadway Army musical "Yip Yap Yank". He later removed the song from the show so as to not be accused of "flagwaving." After the song became popularized, Berlin chose to assign all royalties from the song to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. The song has gone on to become synonymous with American Patriotism.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

God Bless America
Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.

From the mountains
to the prairies,
to the oceans
white with foam.

God Bless America
My home sweet home,
God Bless America
My home sweet home.
