The Profile of a Sweepstaker

Guest Author - Sandy Lovern

You may occasionally enter an online sweepstakes that lures you to its site and you might take a chance on texting in a vote to be entered into a television show sweepstakes…but when do you cross over the line and become one of them?

Do I have your interest now?

You might be asking, “What is “one of them?” One of them officially named sweepstakers, is what I’m talking about. The ones that covertly smuggle all of the entry blanks off the pad in the grocery store, the ones that don’t tell their friends what they do, least they be laughed at. The ones who would rather spend their spare time filling out 3x5 index cards than watch a sitcom or go to the movies.

If your eyes glaze over when you see an enticing sweepstakes, if your hands hurriedly fill out envelopes so you can make entry deadlines, and if you calculate how much postage a soda will buy, then you are officially a sweepstaker.

Do you salivate when you see cereal boxes with sweepstakes posted on them? And if you pass by your favorite chocolate candy to purchase another brand, so you can get the UPC code for a sweepstakes entry, then you are forever addicted.

Sweepstakers love the thrill of the hunt and the hopes of unfulfilled dreams. Dreamers, they look at the glass half full and really do believe in turning lemons into lemonade. But think about it, is that really so bad? Especially in today’s world where everything carries with it a “no-no,” a “you can’t do that,” or a “don’t say that,” it’s great to have an ideology that hard work does net profitable gains and he who hesitates and doesn’t enter, has truly lost.

Some people look at sweepstakers as unscrupulous people who unfairly jam the mailboxes of sponsors and coax the odds to their favor by lavishly decorating envelopes and even praying over their entries. Some sweepstakers have even been known to howl at the full moon! You have some sweepstakers that have their own lucky number of entries and some that refuse to send out entries on a Tuesday. Go figure.

So if you have met any of the criteria described above, you have definitely crossed over into the land of Sweepstaker Heaven. You have seen the bright lights of cash, computers and cruises and in your dreams you have heard the heavenly toot toot of the UPS truck as it backs up to your front door. An angelic chorus floats to your ear every time the phone rings, singing, “Congratulations, you are a Grand Prize Winner!” Ahhhhh…don’t you just love those pearly gates.

Get the inside scoop on how people are winning all of those sweepstakes and contests, and here's a clue, it's not all luck! Sweepstakes Your Guide to Winning! will give you step by step instructions on how to be a winner. To learn more, go to http://www.bellaonline.com/ebooks/ebook160.
