Library Lesson Plans On-Line

There are many web sites that offer on-line lesson plans. The Lesson plans featured here are great resources for librarians.

Librarians and teachers believe in sharing. We believe that it isn't necessary to "reinvent the wheel" each time we approach a new lesson. We don't need to create from scratch lesson plans that others have already developed and tested. It's easier to fine tune an established lesson plan.

Try these web sites for kindergarten - college library lesson plans.

Carl D. Dellutri Mt. Erie Elementary School
Mr. Dellutri has well developed lesson plans for kindergarten through 5th grade. These plans are strong in literature and incorporate solid information skills.

LION
From the Philadelphia school system comes a great page of links for the school librarian. "Provided here are lessons and activities useful in school libraries, links to library and information skills curriculum documents, and related books and periodicals."

Education World
Basic library knowledge lesson presented to make learning about the library fun.

Information Skills Instruction
A listing of sites from Resources for School Librarians.

Lesson Plans at LibraryInstruction.Com
A great collection of lessons. I have used the "Using Tattooing to Teach Boolean Searching" with my college research skills students. They enjoy it and take away a deeper understanding of the concepts.
