Natural Tips For Strong And Healthy Hair

Natural Tips For Strong And Healthy Hair
We all have the desire for beautiful luscious hair and think it is all about the products we put into our hair. This is far from truthful.

Beautiful hair not only relies on how you physically treat it but also on what you put into your body. Over 90% of your hair is made from protein. A diet lacking in protein produces weak brittle hair. Add sun damage, lack of sebum (oil), heat damage, and chemical damage - you have a recipe for disaster.

Certain foods like poultry, yogurt, lentils, blueberries, eggs, sweet potatoes, oysters, nuts, fish, and dark leafy green vegetables all carry important nutrients that are needed to produce healthy hair and a healthy body. Drinking plenty of water is just as important, a dehydrated body does not give the hair the moisture it needs and can lead to dry brittle hair.

A protein rich diet that includes Vitamin D, Omega 3 Fats, Vitamin A, Iron, Vitamin B5, Vitamin C, Amino Acids, Zinc, and Biotin is the ideal composition of vitamins and minerals to include to achieve beautiful healthy hair and skin.

A diet lacking in Iron can cause hair loss. If you are lacking Vitamin C it can cause breakage. Vitamins D and A are for follicle health and helps to produce oils. These oils are important because the Sebum (oil) in the hair follicle helps to lubricate and condition the hair. A healthy scalp directly affects the hair strand. Fortifying the hair follicle with good food choices creates a healthier scalp.

Changing your diet is not noticeable right away in your hair as it is in the skin. It can take a month or two to start seeing results. In combination to a healthy diet try not to wash your hair every day to help keep the oils produced by the scalp there just a little longer. Pick up a natural bristle brush to use on the days you do not wash. The natural bristles will help to distribute these oils from the scalp and coat more of the hair strand which protects it.

Commercial conditioners are made to coat the hair and to give it help with moisture. Sometime these conditioners can cause hair to dry out even more. Try making your own conditioner by blending a cup of olive oil, two egg yolks, and a cup of water. Coat the hair, warm up a towel and wrap the hair. Leave on for 30 min and rinse. Your hair will feel soft and manageable.

With the right diet and giving care to your tresses you can achieve beautiful hair.
