Digital Art Galleries and Communities

One of the best ways to grow as an artist is to share your knowledge and skill with other digital artists. Have you ever wanted to show your artwork and receive some constructive feedback? Well you are not alone. In fact there are websites dedicated to the concept of sharing and learning. The majority of these sites have several features in common.

One important feature is the online gallery. You can browse these galleries at your leisure. It's a great way to keep up with the latest techniques and to get inspiration. The digital artwork in these galleries is quite beautiful.

Most of these sites also let you post your own digital artwork in these galleries and a lot of the time this is free. However, there is usually a submission process. They want (via email) several pieces of your artwork, a short bio, and contact information. Check the artwork category definitions for each site. They vary between sites. You are expected to submit your artwork within one of the categories. Here are a few of the common ones.

Computer Drawn Art
Digital Painting
Enhanced Photography
Photo Painting
3-D Digital Art
Techno
Algorithmic

Another feature of these websites is the forum. If you need help, this is the place to get that help. Some sites also allow you to post your artwork in the forum and other digital artists will critique your work.

But that's not all. These sites also have helpful articles, interviews, tutorials, contests, resource links, and more. Just take a lazy afternoon and check out some of these sites. I'm sure you will find at least a few that meet your needs.
