Raised in a household as one of seven children and with a father who was a professional musician and traveled nine months out of the year, I will be the first to give “kudos” to my mother for holding everything together. I learned a great deal on the parenting of siblings from how my mother handled our various issues, age groups and personalities.
However, my real fascination for sibling personality development came when I began noticing similar birth order character traits (as noted by Alfred Adler) in siblings from different families. At that very moment, studying siblings became much more interesting and complicated. I learned to get out of the textbooks and into the lives of real siblings. I love to research my articles and conduct interviews of parents and siblings from all walks of life. I’ve written an e-book on the subject entitled Birth Order and Parenting.
I have completed my first women’s fiction book entitled Too Many Sisters. This novel, along with my flash fiction writings were finalists for the 2008 Royal Palm Literary Award. I have received an honorable mention for my very first flash fiction title, The Moment in the Women on Writing 2008 Winter Flash Fiction contest.
My short story A Lifetime of Music will be published with a collection of short stories this fall.
