Buongiorno!

Being on this page, chances are that you like Italian food, and I will share with you some of the most famous Italian recipes, along with some of my own creations. But let me tell you about me first.

I am from Rome, Italy and since 1999 I live and work in Southern California. I have two main passions: writing and cooking. I am not sure which came first, however, my passion for Italian food started many years ago, right where I was born and raised.

I had the fortune to be born and spend most of my life in a place like Rome, where the sights are magnificent and the food is as good as it gets. As long as I can remember, in my family everyone always took great pride and pleasure in preparing - and eating - fantastic food, whether for a big holiday dinner or for a simple everyday meal.

Before I was born, my father’s job took him and the rest of his young family from the sunny and slow paced south of Italy to Rome, a big and fast growing Capital in those days. It was a big change of lifestyle for them, but my mother knew that to keep her family happy she could always count on two ingredients available anywhere: good food and love.

She made the best out of that change, combining the best elements of both types of cuisine - Roman and from Southern Italy - with her own passion for cooking. Needless to say, the results were more than just delicious. As I was growing, I spent a lot of time watching her doing her magic in the kitchen, and soon I started helping her and learning how to cook myself. In no time I was hitched, and up to these days I feel immensely grateful for the all the work and effort she put in teaching me how cooking is not just a daily chore, but a way to bring smiles on people´s faces, to create and share joy.

And it works in all directions. There is nothing that brings more joy to my heart than the faces of my guests at my table, waxing enthusiasm over a colorful pasta dish or competing for the last spoonful of Tiramisù. If I make someone happy with my food, I have created a good memory in their life, and that makes me feel good about myself.

And that’s what Italian food is all about, creating and sharing the joy of being together and finding comfort in simple things. And that´s what I want to share with you.

Buon Appetito!
