June 10 2010 Quilting Newsletter

Hi there, itís the Quilters Quarters newsletter time again, and I hope you are busy with your quilting and finding enough time to get those creative juices flowing. I know itís tough sometimes, for us to make the time to quilt. I have always felt that time will never find you for quilting; youíve got to MAKE time. I often block off ďappointmentsĒ in my diary, simply for quilting. I treat those appointments like a doctorís appointment. I donít break them. That way, I do make the time for my passion and the balance of life and work is restored. You should try it sometime!

I chaired the first meeting of the Sunshine Linus last Monday. When I say chaired, I really just got the ball rolling and would you believe we had 25 eager, big hearted volunteers attend. I was blown away with the response. We talked a lot about the what, how, why, and whereís of making quilts for charity and had lots of good laughs along the way. I canít wait for the next gathering next month. Iím certain this group will go from strength to strength and provide (along with other groups on the coast) vital and necessary community support on the Sunshine Coast. I was a Ďbuzzing all week!!

Last Sunday I posted another article to do with Color Theory for Quilters. This time I researched the color yellow and brought to you all the information I could find on using the color yellow in your quilts. I dug up some very interesting stuff on yellow. I hope itís of use to you when youíre choosing your colors for your next creation. Hereís the link to that article: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art9406.asp

The forum is very quiet at present Ė donít forget itís there for you to have your say. Hereís the link to the forums: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=43
