Hello Large and Lovelies,

Summer may be almost at an end according to the calendar but it definitely isn't according to the temperature here. I'm absolutely looking forward to cooler weather and layered clothing!

I want to give you a heads up about a new giveaway starting this week at my shopping blog (linked below) for a plus size bra. You read right, a bra! This giveaway is sponsored by Bare Necessities. You can check the details later tomorrow.

I hope you all had a delightful summer and are looking forward to an exciting fall. Feel free to stop by the forum and say "hey".

Homemade Pirate Costume
I made this for my husband last year but it can be easily used for a woman pirate. First up, buy a pair of pleather pants from the second hand store in your size or bigger. The bigger you get the more material you have to work with. I say pleather because it would be a waste to cut into leather... Read article

Playing It Safe During Aquafit
One of the biggest misconceptions of aqua-fit (water aerobics) is that because it happens in water the participants are safe from injury. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Fat Quote

"Believing that thinness is the sole path to good health, and that it’s an expression of some kind of virtue (restraint, perhaps), also makes it difficult to accept that Fat Acceptance is a positive and optimistic movement. Viewing Fat Acceptance as merely the opposite of weightloss-promotion, through a prism of fat=unhealthy thinking, leads to the conclusion that FA is about giving up. Some feel that it’s about laziness, or cynicism, or despondency. Believing that fat bodies are inherently bad or unhealthy or ugly closes one’s mind off to Fat Acceptance. To a closed mind, the movement seems to be a matter of looking at one’s body and deciding what it can’t do (be thin) and therefore accepting a lesser quality of life based on a negative view of one’s own capabilities and status. What a terrible misconception that is." From Elizabeth (Spilt Milk)
