Here are free tatting patterns for stars, medallions, snowflakes and motifs. Each item in this section has more than six points in the pattern.

Button Snowflake star[offsite link]
This fun snowflake by Lily Morales uses buttons to great effect!

Christmas Snowflake star[offsite link]
Isla Cavallaro has designed a lovely snowflake. The isntructions are in Italian but you should be able to work out the appropriate stitch counts for the different sections as the illustration is very clear.

Crystals in a Ring star[offsite link]
Here is a very pretty star ornament placed in a bangle which Sue Hanson has designed.

Daisy Flower star[offsite link]
Another pattern by your host, this one demonstrates a different way of using mock rings in the traditional daisy pattern.

Davidīs Eight Pointed Star star[offsite link]
Here is a really beautiful star motif by David Collyer, kindly shared on the Picotnet site.

Flower 1 star[offsite link]
This little flower, designed by Gillian Buchanan, is one of a series making use of a variety of mock ring techniques to develop the single ring flower motif.

Flower 2 star[offsite link]
This is a pattern by your host which makes use of self closing mock rings to create a double ring effect.

Flower Motif star[offsite link]
Here is another flower design by Gillian Buchanan, illustrating the technique of using Mock Rings so that the traditional daisy can carry rings on rings.

Flower of Spring star[offsite link]
This is another simple two shuttle pattern by your host, using Josephine rings and picotless chains for an interesting effect.

Mindy Al-Harajiīs Clover Motif star[offsite link]
This pattern is actually fairly advanced and makes use of all sorts of split ring techniques. I would advise you to study it carefully before making it up.

Rietīs Snowflakes star[offsite link]
This lovely design is part of a lesson on the Single Shuttle Split Ring, prepared by Riet Surtel-Smeulders of the Online Tatting Class.

Snowflake 1 Medallion star[offsite link]
This one by Lisa Trumble has some interesting shapes created with two shuttles, and subtle use of beads.

Snowflake Flower star[offsite link]
Lyn Morton has designed this very traditional looking flower using a range of pretty colours.

Snowflakeīs Blizzard star[offsite link]
Although this one uses beads itīs actually not at all difficult as each bead is threaded on between the rings.

Star - 7 point star star[offsite link]
Christiane Eichlerīs filigree 7 point motif.
