Girl Scouts Information
A Few Girl Scout Recruitment Ideas Recruitment in Girl Scouts has often relied heavily on the good will of the educational system. In other words, volunteers held round ups or sent home flyers via the schools. For Girls, By Girls, About Girls Last week I received a letter wanting to know why we didn´t let the girls plan their Brownie activities. January Planning January is a time to regroup, reassess, and revise. I plan our entire year in August, but I take a moment in January to make sure the plans still make sense. I also take a moment to consider February´s big event, which is Thinking Day. Organizational Tips for Junior Leaders I recently received this email from another leader, Cherie Cooper, with what I found to be helpful information for leaders at the Junior level. With her permission, I am posting her ideas for everyone´s benefit! Planning for a New Brownie Troop It´s nearing the end of the school year and a lot of troops are thinking about Court of Awards and end-of-the-year activities. I am thinking about my Daisies first year as Brownies. Starting Out in Daisies Recently I sat down with a new volunteer who will be leading a new cooperatively led Daisy troop at the school where my girls attend. It occurred to me that the basics are the same and sharing them might help all new leaders. The Joys of a Multi-level Troop I went multi-level with my troop this year in a big way; I have girls from grade 2 to grade 6. I was hesitant to do it, but it's been very very easy and wonderful in so many ways.
