When we struggle against something, rather than accepting it, we cause ourselves added stress and less coping.
Emotional Symptoms Deserve Blood Tests  Many diseases and health disorders cause emotional symptoms, including thyroid diseases. When a patient develops these type symptoms with no explanation or has physical symptoms in addition to emotional ones, blood testing for thyroid disorders should be performed. T-4 to T-3 Thyroid Hormone Conversion  There is a problem that can occur in a small percent of hypothyroid patients, being treated with T-4 hormone therapy, referred to as "inadequate conversion of T-4 to T-3". Things that can Hinder Hypothyroid Treatment  When a patient recieving thyroid hormone replacement therapy for hypothyroidism, doesn't experience the expected results, there are other hormonal imbalances and nutritional deficiencies that could be the culprit. This article looks at some of those possible hindrances to successful treatment.
Thyroid Antibodies and Thyroid Disease Symptoms  Thyroid antibodies cause the disease process that leads to hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. Some patients report experiencing symptoms from elevated thyroid antibody levels, in advance of experiencing thyroid hormone imbalance. Thyroid Hormone Replacement & Antidepressants  Thyroid hormone therapy is usually very effective in relieving hypothyroid symptoms, including emotional symptoms. While an antidepressant can be very helpful when added to treatment for stubborn emotional symptoms, I feel that the thyroid medication should first be given time to work properly.
