Caribbean and Alaskan Camping with Home Comforts Camping without work is my kind of outdoor overnight. Here are three great places to enjoy nature’s beauty without the bother. Two are in the Caribbean, where most islands discourage camping, and one site offers Alaska’s rugged coastal scenery and abundant wildlife as well as home cooking.

At 10,000 feet Maui's dormant
volcano looms as a moonscape of brown and red craters. My son Matt and I biked down the mountain, a four hour trip, to celebrate his high school graduation. Caving in South Dakota On a caving adventure discover such subterranean secrets as “curtains” of crystals and vast underground chamber and thousands of years old stalactites and stalagmites. South Dakota’s Jewel Cave National Monument and Wind Cave National Park are two of the U.S.’s top caves. Luray Virginia: Caverns and Cool Places Luray Caverns, the largest cavern in the Eastern U.S., deserves its ranking as a top tourist attraction. Magical Maui, Hawaii, Adventures Biking down the slopes of a dormant volcano, savoring an authentic luau of songs and dances, snorkeling amidst schools of rainbow colored fish and hiking across an ancient lava field to watch a blow hole shoot spray high into the air are among my favorite magical Maui adventures. Queenstown, NZ, Wines and Wows New Zealand proved a great choice for a vacation to celebrate our daughter Alissa’s college graduation. We wanted a trip that provided great scenery, a mix of city life and adventures plus affordable, but comfortable lodging for a family.
