Making Cloth Dolls

These books are full of patterns and instructions for making cloth, fabric and rag dolls.

Cloth Doll Artistry - Book Review star
Cloth Doll Artistry is an exciting new book, just released, by Barbara Willis. The best word I can use to describe the book is delicious! The wonderful color photos that fill this book are worth the price of the book all by themselves. This book is inspiration in paper form.

Cloth Dolls for Textile Artists - Book Review star
Cloth Dolls for Textile Artists is a fascinating addition to my doll making library. I highly recommend this book because while the dolls are definitely art dolls, they are all beautiful, you don't have to be an artist to enjoy these dolls.

Dollmaking For the First Time - Book Review star
For those of you who have never made a doll, and don't know where to start, I have the perfect suggestion. Get a copy of Dollmaking For the First time, by Miriam Gourley. If, on the other hand, you have some experience making dolls, you will still enjoy this book.

Little Birds - Book Review star
This book combines two of my favorite things, doll making and birds. There are patterns and instructions for making more than ten different birds.

Making Waldorf Dolls - Book Review star
Making Waldorf Dolls by Maricristin Sealey, and illustrated by Isabel Sealey, is a book that belongs on every doll makers book shelf.

Palm - Size Softies Book Review star
This is an absolutely delightful, fun book. As soon as it came in the mail my Mother-in-Law and I started turning pages and oohing and aahing over how cute and adorable all the stuffed dolls and pets are.

Review of Cloth Dolls by Brenda Brightmore star
This book belongs on every doll makers bookshelf, but it won't spend much time on the shelf. A beautiful book that will inspire you.

Socks Appeal - Book Review star
Ms. Maloney takes a lighthearted approach to socks and making sock creatures, pokes fun at her own creative skills and will have you won over to her way of thinking about "The Wearing of the Socks" by the end of the book.

Stitched Toys - Book Review star
I got a new book last week and I thought it would be of interest to many of you. Stitched Toys by Kate Haxell is a book that has something for just about any doll maker.
