Dynamic HTML (DHTML)
Articles and tutorials about Dynamic HTML, JavaScript, CSS and DOM.
An Introduction to the DOM DOM is an acronym for Document Object Model. It's a way of looking at HTML that makes it possible for website developers to create functions and manipulate the code in ways that would otherwise be impossible. Introduction to Dynamic HTML - DHTML DHTML is a combination of Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript and the DOM. The CSS controls the parts of a webpage. JavaScript causes things to happen. The DOM is the blueprint of the webpage. Protect Your Content with No Right Clicks I received an email from a man who sells comic books on eBay and has had theft of his images. He wanted to prevent people from coping his images from his site. I wrote back with several suggestions including the use of a DHTML script, Flash and watermarking his images. Working With the DOM The Document Object Model, otherwise known as DOM, is a highly useful tool for web developers – it allows them to directly affect specific portions of the HTML document with programming such as Javascript. Here's how you can use DOM to add some dynamic elements to your pages.
