A Tribute to Paul Newman  It was a sad day for many people when Paul Newman died due to complications of lung cancer on 26 September 2008. A humanitarian of great proportions, he will be a hero to many - forever. Celebrity cancer survivors  Often we need to remind ourselves that there are many cancer survivors. How did they do it? Was it their 'state-of-the-art' treatment, or a positive outlook? Many celebreties have fought-and-won the cancer battle. Farrah Fawcett and her fight against cancer  The lovely star from Charlie's Angels, courageously fighting her battle against cancer - is sharing her ordeal with the world in a documentary, in true reality style. Cancer patients world wide could benefit from her story. Jason Robards - Lung Cancer  Jason Robards won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in
1976 for All the President's Men, and then in 1977 for Julia. He died from metastasized lung cancer in 2000. Lance Armstrong - Survivor  Lance Armstrong is perhaps one of the most famous metastatic cancer survivors in the world. Not only did he vanquish the disease - when he had only a 3% chance of survival - but he went on to win 7 Tour de Frances. Susan Hayward - Lung Cancer  The actress Susan Hayward died from lung cancer that had metastatized to her brain. Even more sad is that she, John Wayne and other fellow actors all got their cancer on a radioactive movie shoot. The Lance Armstrong Foundation  Lance Armstrong won a successful battle against cancer through determination and hard work. He then created the Lance Armstrong Foundation to support others affected by cancer.
