I'll Be Home For Christmas

Toot & Puddle : Iīll Be Home for Christmas is a picture book written and illustrated by Holly Hobbie. The story follows two pigs. Toot is the traveler. And, Puddle is the homebody who enjoys Tootīs travels via his postcards and emails.

Toot, returning from a family reunion in Scotland, is delayed by an ice storm. All flights are canceled. Toot promised Puddle that he would be home for Christmas, therefore the good friend leaves Boston by foot for, Woodcock Pocket, home. He hikes until meeting a mysterious traveler in a sleigh.

At home in Woodcock Pocket, Puddle prepares for Christmas. The Christmas cards are signed by Puddle awaiting Toot's signature. He bakes his friendīs favorite holiday treat. Decorations are everywhere. The only thing left to do is shovel the snow. The two faithful friends are reunited on the front walkway.

The determination of two friends to keep their promise to one another is so beautiful. It is never too early for young ones to learn this lesson.

Holly Hobbie's watercolors are as beautiful as the story. They are so soft and easy on the eye. If they were photographs, you would believe them to be airbrushed.

Add this sweet story, Toot & Puddle: I'll Be Home for Christmas to your collection of Christmas books. The children in your life will love it.
