OSTRICH – A Book Review of a Labor of Love
I suppose the way to find out why the title of this book is OSTRICH is to ask the author and since I am the author, I can’t wait to answer this question.
Once upon a time a reader indicated to me that writers should not portray characters that are disreputable in any way nor should they write about anything that is vulgar or rude. I was caught off guard by these comments since at that time I had just completed my first holiday collection and it certainly was neither vulgar nor rude. That comment got me thinking and I concluded that she was probably frightened by life and possibly hiding from life and the world in general. She seemed to believe that not seeing, acknowledging or facing reality made it not so, just like an Ostrich who buries it head in the sand. I found myself thinking that she should open her heart and open her mind and face the world because just like that Ostrich that thinks its solved its problem by hiding its head, it really isn’t hidden and its problems really didn’t go away. So, in the spirit of “everything happens for a reason”, this conversation led me to write not only the piece OSTRICH, but the book OSTRICH. That one encounter evolved into an entire book, OSTRICH, A Little Book About Dealing With Life's Ups and Downs (Because Life Is What Life Is…Nothing More and Nothing Less…)
I’d be very honored if you would visit Amazon.com and click on Look Inside the Book to take a free Sneak Peek into OSTRICH. The opening piece is, of course, OSTRICH. This book was a labor of love for me and also for the extraordinary Illustrator. We worked together on our mutual goals of helping women of all ages open their minds and their hearts to find balance in their lives.
So again, I’d consider it a great compliment if you would click on the link below and to look inside the book to take a Sneak Peek at OSTRICH on Amazon.com
I sincerely appreciate your loyalty and your visits to my pages at Bellaonline.com.
