Instant Pot Quick Italian Meat Sauce Recipe
Although I often make homemade marinara sauce from scratch and keep it in the freezer ready to add meat when I want meat sauce, sometimes I’m in a hurry and need it quickly. Because commercial spaghetti sauce has improved over the years, I make this Instant Pot Quick Italian Meat Sauce when I need sauce for spaghetti, lasagna, or penne casseroles. The hot Italian sausage has spices that make this sauce taste like it’s homemade in an Italian kitchen, and it only has three ingredients.

You can use ground pork instead of the ground beef, and use a package of hot Italian and a package of mild or sweet Italian sauce if you prefer your sauce very mild. My family prefers to have a bit of a bite in the sauce. I sometimes use this sauce on homemade pizza, and the meat in the sauce, along with pepperoni makes it a meat-lovers pizza.

Hopefully, you already have an Instant Pot, or similar multi-purpose pressure cooker. I can’t live without mine, and use it almost every day. The price has gone down on these little miracle appliances, and they are definitely worth the small price.

1 pound ground beef
1 to 2 pounds hot Italian Sausage

4 28 oz. cans traditional spaghetti sauce

  1. Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in the Instant pot on the sauté setting.
  2. Drain well and add the spaghetti sauce; stir.
  3. Cover the pot, set the valve to sealing, and set the pot to manual for 15 minutes. When the cycle has finished, release the pressure, and stir well. Serve over pasta.
