Impossible Candy Bar Pie Recipe

Impossible Candy Bar Pie Recipe
Impossible pies have been around for decades. Basically they are one-dish pies (both sweet and savory) that make their own crusts, as well as a topping. There have been hundreds of variations over the years, and most families have a few in their regular repertoires. Still having lots of fun-size candy bars left over from Halloween, I wondered just how they would do in one of these impossible pies. Because the candy bars are extra sweet, I reduced the sugar, and used my own Master Baking Mix. It took only a few minutes to put together; by the time the oven was heated and the candy bars were coarsely chopped (I used my food processor to pulse them so they were still fairly coarse), it was ready to bake. The end result of Impossible Candy Bar Pie is a thin crust, a thick custard layer, and a decadent candy topping. This one is a winner.

You can use an assortment of candy bars in this pie, or just one of your favorite varieties, such as Almond Joy or Mounds. Snicker bars are delicious, as well as Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Try to avoid Kit Kats because the wafers take on a cardboard texture which isn’t as good as the others. Feel free to eat all of the Kit Kats you want, however, while the pie is baking. For this test pie, I used an assortment of Nestles Crunch, Snickers, Almond Joy, Cookies and Cream, Baby Ruth, and Twix.
