Short Bob for Baby Fine Hair

Short Bob for Baby Fine Hair
Toni has 'baby fine' hair. It is very soft and fragile and lays very flat, making it look thinner than it is. Her hair is highlighted with some breakage in the crown. Toni would love to have a long hair style, but now that she is over forty, her hair does not grow very fast and is not strong enough to attain any length without split ends and breakage.

This short bob is perfect for Toni because it is short enough to allow for body in her fine limp hair, and it gives her a swingy, trendy style. The blunt cut creates body.
The long front styled with a side part and tucked behind one ear, is flattering to Toni's full face.

Her hair is cut to one length at the nape of her neck. Toni's hair is lightly layered in the crown only and blended down to a blunt neckline, to give fullness. The sides are cut at one length above chin level.

Toni's normally flat, lifeless hair is given fullness and bounce with these styling techniques. We used shampoo designed for fine hair but that also is designed to condition and build body. LC Legacy Styling Foam was applied for fullness and body. Put about a marshmallow sized portion in your hand. Rub your hands together to distribute it and run your hands through your hair, making sure to apply it to the root area. Blow it dry with a vent brush. Brush the top and crown area of your hair in the opposite direction from which it will hang. This provides for fullness. Gently turn the ends under. We used a large - one and a half inch - iron to add fullness in the crown and tuck the ends under.
