Course Review - What's New in Adobe Presenter 10
This short and free course at Adobe® KnowHow™ covers what's new for Adobe Presenter 10. Although Dr. Pooja Jaisingh is the author given credit for the course entitled What's New in Adobe Presenter 10, she shares the spotlight with Dr. Allen Partridge.
Both authors cover the main additions and improvements to Adobe Presenter 10. They begin with an introduction to Presenter's main features including simultaneous capture of screen and webcam, preset avatar characters, interactive features and analytics.
The two main sections of the course cover the new Publish to HTML5 feature and Adobe Presenter Video Express, the new easy-to-use interface. In the first section, the authors demonstrate how your finished eLearning course will display on a tablet and how the Publish to HTML5 feature takes advantage of the tablet gestures and user interface. The authors also demonstrate how easily one can convert PowerPoint slides to HTML5, while retaining the graphics and text elements.
The second section of the course covers the new Adobe Presenter Video Express user interface and how to easily control the placement and duration of the author layout (or webcam view) and the screenshot layout, using only three buttons on the Timeline. They demonstrate how to use the pan and zoom feature, the script panel, close captioning, and how to trim the Timeline. The authors also discuss the five new themes included with the upgrade, how to use the Branding panel for adding lower thirds and how to easily optimize and publish to YouTube, Vimeo and Adobe Connect.
If you are already familiar with Adobe Presenter and only need a quick review the new features, this course will help. However, if you have not used Presenter before or you need a comprehensive course, this course will not cover everything.
The course gives the impression that it is a compilation of several Adobe Presenter videos created independently. The course continuity suffers due to the frequent switching between authors. There is also much duplication of information. For example, one author will discuss a topic, which is then followed by the second author discussing the same topic and information in the next video.
