PCC Community Markets is a co-op located in Seattle, with a focus on organic, non-GMO, sustainably sourced foods. The co-op was formed in 1971, and now features a deli and bakery as well as classes on cooking, frugal living, and cooking skills. > Cooking from Scratch: 120 Recipes for Colorful, Seasonal Food from PCC Community Markets is their cookbook containing recipes from their deli and bakery, as well as their publications.

This cookbook contains mouthwatering recipes complete with beautiful photographs. The recipes are simple, well-written, and easy to follow. The dishes are for foods that real people will actually want to prepare. Some of the recipes are innovative, others are new variations of recipes that we’ve been making for years. The Rhubarb Cardamom Muffins turned out perfectly and were delicious. There is an easy recipe for Heavenly Scones that was easy to make and turned out scones that were perfect. The Cauliflower-Cheddar Soup reminded me of the classic English Cauliflower Cheese. The rub on the Spice-Rubbed Grilled Pork Chops was scrumptious and the chops made for a very easy dinner on a recent grilling night. Other recipes that are in the queue are a Sesame-Ginger London Broil, Pomegranate Molasses Grilled Chicken, and Garlicky Green Beans and Shrimp.

Quite honestly you can’t go wrong with this excellent cookbook. It features beautiful, delectable desserts, as well as main dishes, soups, breakfast delights, and an impressive array of fabulous salads.

Highly recommended, > Cooking from Scratch: 120 Recipes for Colorful, Seasonal Food from PCC Community Markets is a cookbook book that every cook will use again and again.
