Anyone who has loved the Disney parks, and enjoyed the food served in them, will welcome The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook: From Delicious Dole Whip to Tasty Mickey Pretzels, 100 Magical Disney-Inspired Recipes written by lifelong Disney lover Ashley Craft. Almost all of us have memories of eating favorite dishes at our various favorite Disney destinations, and this cookbook has recipes for many of them. While there are dozens of recipes for main and savory dishes, the book includes an extensive list of mouthwatering dessert recipes. The book is divided into different parks and includes recipes for dishes served in those places.

Since my Disney memories date back to long before Craft was even born, I was disappointed that most recipes were for more modern recipes. However, some of the treats, such as Frozen Chocolate-Covered Bananas and Fritters (2 favorites from Disney visits from the 60s and 70s), have stayed popular over the years and are included in this book. The recipes are written in an easy-to-follow manner, and most are simple enough to be successfully made by both beginning cooks as well as those who are more experienced.

There are very few photographs of the dishes, which is unfortunate, since most of us rely on them in a good cookbook to help us decide what to make.

Reading and cooking from this book will invoke memories of visiting Disney Parks and will make it very tempting to contact your travel agent and book a trip.
