What do you get when you have an extremely good looking and charismatic actor (Antoni Porowski of Queer Eye fame) who can actually cook, and even write? In this case, Antoni: Let’s Do Dinner, a cookbook full of delightful prose and most importantly, delicious recipes. Many of the recipes have nuances of Porowski’s childhood, but others are just the result of a great imagination and excellent cooking skills. The cookbook is co-written by Mindy Fox, and it’s not certain just how much influence she had, but no matter who thought of what, this is a fun cookbook full of dishes most of us actually want to make.

One of the best parts of this cookbook is that there are beautiful photographs which make it difficult to decide what to cook next. Most (not all) of the recipes are fairly simple, have minimal ingredients, and can be successfully made by everyone, whether novices or experts in the kitchen. Some use ingredients that aren’t particularly popular, such as eggplant. Actually, eggplant is now a vegetable purchased often because of Porowski’s recipe for Turkish Meatballs with Eggplant & Feta (Yum!). Gochujang is a recent cooking trend, and Porowski uses it in a mouthwatering Korean pork burger that is incredible. Another recipe that is a new favorite is Lemon Spaghetti with Toasted Walnuts & Parsley – simple, and perfect with any meat, poultry, or fish.

Although most recipe books by celebrities are fairly ordinary, this one stands out due to the fact that the recipes are so different from what we are used to, and that the recipes are mouthwatering and turn out perfectly every time. The book is also organized and the recipes are easy-to-follow. Highly recommended.
